Mealeez takes its tagline “The Food Allergy App” seriously. The aim of our app and website is to empower you and give you as much control over your allergies as possible. From highlighting problematic ingredients on a recipe to showing you what you can eat at a restaurant nearby, the point is to make you feel that you are more in control of your allergies than they are of you.
One of the largest struggles when you have food allergies is grocery shopping. Our most popular feature is the food label scanner, giving you a quick guide as to whether something could be safe or not. But there is always a tendency to “stick to what you know” when it comes to allergies. Once you’ve found a food item that you are confident is safe, why spend time checking food labels on other items? Who really has the time to go up and down supermarket aisles checking and scanning food labels in the hope there is something new to eat?
We’re with you on that. Since the inception of Mealeez, we’ve always wanted to do more than just scan individual food labels. We wanted to scan them ALL!
Now, for the first time in the UK, there is a price comparison app & website that will only show you products that are safe for you to eat.
Grocery Shopping on Mealeez

Mealeez will check the major UK supermarkets for the best deal for each grocery item, letting you instantly see the lowest prices.

This is the most exciting feature that we’ve ever developed at Mealeez, and it really is revolutionary. Now you can do a search for something as simple as “sausages” and Mealeez will check over 40,000 products across almost a dozen UK supermarkets, checking if it is safe to eat. It’ll also list the stores it found it in, and show you latest prices. Within seconds.
No more guesswork, no more wondering “do you think Tesco might have…”. No more struggles of your favourite allergy-friendly meal being out of stock and having to spend an inordinate amount of time hunting for something else you can eat. It’s all right here, in your pocket (and our website!).
And just like the rest of the app, switching accounts means it’ll check results against the currently active profile.
The list of products on Mealeez changes on a daily basis, so remember to keep checking back to find out what’s new.
We can’t wait for you to try out the Groceries area for yourself, giving you greater freedom from your food allergies!
To get started, login to your account and head to https://app.mealeez.co.uk/groceries. From there, it’s simply a case of typing in the search bar. For greater control, PLUS members can also filter the supermarkets to search in.

Also Introducing: Android App v3
With such a huge change being introduced, we’ve taken some time to fine-tune some other areas, and release v3 of the website and Android app. Our Food Label Scanner has been made more accurate, our Restaurants area has had some performance tweaks making it slightly faster (and more accurate!) and our Recipes area has a nicer looking filter area, as well as incorporating the search functionality directly on the recipes screen itself.
Enjoy!
